Students who are interested in taking College Math 135 and/or College Writing 110 next year will need to take a placement exam on Tuesday, April 12th at 8:30 in the high school library.  The exam will determine if the student will be eligible to receive college credit for the course(s) he or she chooses to take during the 2016-2017 school year.  These are two different exams and there is no charge for either one.  If a student takes the exam, but does not place into the course for college credit, he or she could choose to take the course for high school credit only.  The advantage to this is that he or she will still have to take the course in college, but it should come much easier since the student will have already been exposed to the course.

Remember that taking a dual credit course for college credit while in high school has several advantages.  The course is offered at a much discounted tuition price, the student is earning both college and high school credit, and some of the courses have a high school teacher serving as a facilitator for the instructor at the college.  Please see Mrs. Gilliland if you have any questions about our offerings or testing.
