Scholarships for seniors are beginning to open for applications. Make sure you watch for articles here and read the Counselor's Corner for information and deadlines. Start your applications early, read and follow the directions carefully, set aside time to work on the applications, and put true effort into your responses. A few hours of work can result in a great pay-off to begin your post-secondary education! And, remember, scholarships are not just for colleges. There are many scholarships that are designated for vocational programs. See Mrs. Gilliland often throughout the year for more info and applications. You may also want to check with your parents' place of work, insurance, electric company, etc. to see if they offer scholarships. There are also online searches that make thousands of scholarships available to you and will help match those that are relevant to you and your goals. Fastweb is one of largest. Be aware of scholarship scams though. You should almost never have to pay money to get a scholarship or a grant opportunity. Good Luck!
