Abigail Kirkpatrick, 2025 Senior

Abigail Kirkpatrick, a member of Alton High School Class of 2025, has made her mark through her involvement in academics, extracurricular activities, and her vision for the future.

Abigail is the daughter of Christina Tennison and Dylan Kirkpatrick, the sister of Gracie and Logan Simmons, Ian Kirkpatrick, and her recently adopted siblings Keshia and Lilly Seagraves.

Her favorite childhood memory is a trip to St. Louis with her parents and younger brother Ian, where she delighted in seeing the elephants at the zoo for the first time.

Throughout high school, Abigail has been an active participant in various activities. She joined FCCLA in the 2024-25 school year, was a member of Beta Club from 2021-25, and cheered for AHS during her senior year. Her talents also earned her a Beta Award in colored photography last year.

One of her most cherished activities has been her nursing class, which she describes as deeply fulfilling. "I enjoy helping the residents and learning more about becoming a CNA," she shared. Vo-Tech has been her favorite class for the same reason, offering her hands-on experience in the field she’s passionate about.

Outside of school, Abigail spends time with her friends, often embarking on what she calls “sidequests.” Her adventurous spirit extends to her dreams—she hopes to one day travel to Bali and own a vacation home there.

Abigail describes herself as ambitious, goal-oriented, and observant. These traits align with her plans for the future: attending the Missions University in Springfield, earning her RN, and specializing as a NICU or Pediatric nurse. In ten years, she envisions herself thriving in her dream job, living in a beautiful home, and building a family.

Her bucket list includes visiting Hawaii, exploring Montana’s majestic mountains, and experiencing her first airplane ride. Abigail admires her mother most, citing her resilience and dedication as a parent.

Among the mentors who have shaped her, Coach Hope stands out for making cheer practice fun and being a kind-hearted role model. Abigail says she’ll miss the comforting simplicity of her high school days, where the weight of adulthood still seemed far away.

When asked how she’d like to be remembered at Alton High, Abigail said, “Oh, hey”—a phrase that captures her friendly and approachable personality. Her advice for underclassmen is heartfelt: "Pay attention to your own emotions. Don’t sacrifice your happiness just to make everyone else happy.”

As Abigail prepares to embark on her next chapter, the Alton community celebrates her achievements and looks forward to the incredible impact she is sure to make in the future.
