Lane Wheeler, 2025 Senior

Lane Wheeler will graduate from Alton High School in 2025. He is the proud son of Sheila Bates and Bobby Wheeler. One of Lane’s favorite things to do with his family is spend time outdoors, where he finds joy and connection. His favorite childhood memory is spending time with his grandparents, who hold a special place in his heart.

During his time at AHS, Lane has been involved in FFA for three years. One of his favorite activities is going to the river—it’s his peaceful escape. His most memorable high school moment was attending Farmfest with classmates.

Lane especially enjoyed ag mechanics class because it's something he’s naturally good at. Outside of school, you can find him hanging out with his friends. If you had to describe Lane in three words, they’d be: outgoing, charismatic, and helpful.

After graduation, Lane plans to go straight into the workforce. In 10 years, he sees himself owning a tire shop. On his bucket list? Bungee jumping, parasailing, and parachuting—he’s always up for an adventure.

Lane looks up to his papa the most, saying, “He taught me a lot growing up.” The teacher who had the biggest impact on him was Zach Wheeler, who taught Lane how to weld and fabricate.

What will he miss the most about AHS? “Seeing my friends.” His advice to underclassmen: “Turn in your work on time.”
