The girls' and boys' junior high teams met on the Alton court against Gainesville on Thursday, September 22, 2022. The 7th-grade girls' basketball team had a solid showing, beating Gainesville 26 to 8. The fantastic effort was followed by a spectacular display on the court by the 7th-grade boys, who outscored Gainesville 35 to 28. Both 8th-grade teams fell to Gainesville, with the 8th-grade girls fighting to the end for a score of 26 to Gainesville's 27. Thanks to coaches Kevin AraSmith and Anthony Caruso and volunteer coach Eric Honeycutt for a great home opener.
