Barnwarming 2022

Barnwarming traditions have changed little by little through the years. When Barnwarming began back in the ’50s, only boys were allowed in FFA, so to have a date, they would invite the “Home Economics” girls. The girls they invited were named “FFA Sweethearts,” and they competed to be crowned “Goddess of Agriculture.” Whichever lucky FFA Sweetheart was crowned Goddess of Agriculture and had the honor of having an 8x10 picture of her placed in the Agriculture classroom.

In 1969, females were accepted into the FFA and took on the honor of running for “Goddess of Agriculture.” In 1999, the Union FFA went from crowning the “Goddess of Agriculture” to crowning a king and queen. This tradition has now evolved into what is called "Barnwarming".

The Alton R-IV FFA Chapter held its annual Barnwarming on Saturday, December 3, 2022. Below you will find a list of candidates and the winner of our 2022 Barnwarming event.
