A message from Dr. Eric Allen about the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19):

Junior High Quiz Bowl attended the Big Spring Conference on Wednesday, March 11th in Ellington. We are so excited to announce that 8th Grade received First Place and 7th Grade received Third Place in this competition. Congratulations to these wonderful young scholars!

SENIORS: A couple of you have asked if you should go ahead and apply for certain scholarships because they ask for you to be a specific major; for example, the Cline Scholarship is looking for an accounting major. If it says "preference" that means it is still wide open for any major possibly. If it doesn't say preference, but lists a specific major, that is a different matter. However, ask me to check for you. We sometimes find out that they will go ahead and accept any major and not just the one they asked for. I checked on the Cline and Vincent Scholarships through www.cfozarks.org and they are looking for accounting majors. HOWEVER, if we don't have an accounting major that fits the other criteria, the scholarship committee can look at other majors. SO, apply! Ask if you are unsure. I don't mind checking for you!

9th - 11th graders: Dual Enrollment meeting for 2020-2021 school year in the library today, Wednesday, March 11th, during 8th hour. MANDATORY for you to be there if you plan to take a dual enrollment course.

The online world can be an unforgiving place. We are now more connected than we have ever been which means opening ourselves and others up to potential online abuse, bullying or negative comments. Sometimes we can overlook the consequences of our actions. That’s why this week we want to promote the message of just ‘being kind online’ with a reminder towards how we can develop a more empathetic side and be a more responsible online consumer.

SENIORS: www.cfozarks.org - Out of 9 possible scholarships that are due on March 13th or 17th, we have two with ZERO applications, six with only one applicant, and one with two applicants. The money is there - you just have to do a bit of work to be in the running for it!

SENIORS: Please make sure you are applying for scholarships! Read through the applications carefully and include all documentation including essays and reference letters. Neatness and black ink helps as well!
