Breaking news! Alton Elementary School is the recipient of a $6,044.96 grant from Missouri S and T that will be used to purchase items for our STEAM program! STEAM empowers teachers to employ project-based learning that crosses all 5 disciplines (science, technology, engineering, arts, math) and fosters an inclusive learning environment where all students are able to engage and contribute. The money from the grant will be used to purchase the items pictured below, as well as several additional items. The district was able to purchase a 4 ft robot, a 2 ft robot, 6 Dash robots, 2 Dot robots, 4 Fire HD 8 tablets, curriculum guides, and so much more! The district would like to thank Mrs. Shayna Poole and Mrs. Amy Janes for working hard to implement the STEAM program!. Because of these ladies, our students are learning to use evidence to create knowledge and solve problems. The safety of our students and staff is very important to us. It is critical that you use caution while driving on the school campus. Please use caution and handle every situation as if it were your child or loved one in the potentially dangerous situation. Please share.
