DUE OCTOBER 25 - HORATIO ALGER NATIONAL & STATE SCHOLARSHIPS - up to $25,000 - full-time seniors who plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree (can start at a 2-year college). Must demonstrate financial need, be involved in co-curricular and community service, display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity, and have a minimum GPA of 2.0. If your high school student is enrolled in a Rosetta Stone Foreign Language course, please remember they need to make a $40 (cash or check made payable to AHS) security deposit for the use of the headphones, ASAP. They may also purchase their own USB combo speaker & headphone.
JUNIORS, SOPHOMORES, FRESHMEN: U.S. MILITARY SERVICE ACADEMY DAY is Saturday, September 14 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Jefferson College in Hillsboro, MO. State Representatives and Senators will attend as well as representatives of all four Military Academies.

Transportation Policy: To clarify any confusion, we are asking that parents please provide a primary address, one that your child/children will go to every day. Then, please provide a secondary address that children will go to in an emergency. If an address change needs to be made, please do so in the office. *August 13, 2019 prior to the Alton R-IV Open House: The Alton Public School Foundation will host a hotdog supper which includes a hotdog, chips, and drink for $2.00 in the Alton Elementary Multi-Purpose Building beginning at 5:30 pm. Spring Dipper Ice Cream will also be available for purchase as well.
FYI: The bus drivers will be at Open House tomorrow night (6:00-7:30). Please stop by their table in the elementary lobby if you have questions about pick up and/or drop off times.

Mrs. Foerster lives in Van Buren, MO and also taught at the Van Buren School District. Her husband, Mr. Brian Foerster, is our high school math teacher.
