Alton Elementary students are spending the day in Comet Pride Bootcamp! We know the importance of having consistent rules throughout our building in each location. We also value uniform rules for all students, preschool through 6th Grade. We felt that January was the perfect time to brush up on our school expectations! #AltonElem #PBIS #CometPride

This month our teacher spotlight sparkles on Mrs. Melissa Hufstedler. Mrs. Hufstedler has taught Music at Alton Elementary for 26 years. During this time, Mrs. Hufstedler has put together over 50 music programs that have sparked talent in children and made parents proud. She has instilled an appreciation and love for music within hundreds of students! Mrs. Hufstedler is one talented woman. There isn’t much that this lovely lady cannot do- from singing, to painting, to sewing, to playing the piano and more, the list is never ending. Mrs. Hufstedler is a hard worker. She puts everything she has into the music program at Alton Elementary and is always there to help others make their endeavors successful, adding a special touch to everything she is involved in. In addition, Mrs. Hufstedler always makes sure our students have what they need. If she finds out a student is doing without, she will personally make sure that the student's needs are met. In her spare time, Mrs. Hufstedler continues to touch the lives of others by teaching college courses at Missouri State University. She also gives private lessons to many aspiring pianists. Mrs. Hufstedler is an amazing role model for our students. Her presence truly makes our school a better place. Thanks for making Alton Elementary shine, Mrs. Hufstedler!
*Thank you to the Alton Burger Palace for sponsoring our Teacher Spotlight Program each month. Mrs. Hufstedler received a $25 gift certificate from the Burger Palace.

Parents & 7th-12th Graders: Mrs. Gilliland has created a "Google" classroom for each grade level. She will be using this as a means of communicating information that might be important to each grade level. Students should watch for their invite to the class.
