Choir Student Sponsorship Opportunity
Alton Community,
Our Soundwaves Choir Department will be attending an event called "Music in the Parks". The cost of this event is $88. It covers park admission and a food stand voucher. As many of you know, this is a large expense for some families; especially when you have multiple students in a family attending. We want to ensure that every student can attend. We have about 8-10 students who need a "sponsor" to cover the $88 cost. If you feel led to be a sponsor, please comment below or email Mr. Cole Barton (colebarton@alton.k12.mo.us). We appreciate any support you can provide.
Once again, Mrs. Whitten went above and beyond providing Mrs. Holesapple's 3rd grade class with an ice cream sundae/rootbeer float party. Huge thanks to Mrs. Whitten and Fuel Express/Quick Connection.
Big Smiles Dental was scheduled to be here on February 2nd, but that had to be canceled due to us not having school. They will be coming this Friday February 16th to see the students that were already signed up to be seen on the 2nd.

We regret to inform you that the City of Alton will need to turn off water on campus this Friday, February 2nd. This is due to a visitor to the school hitting a fire hydrant, which will need to be repaired. It is a lengthy process that could take most of the day. As a result, we will have to cancel school (02-02-24).
However, to minimize disruptions to your child's education, we will be sending work home with your child on Thursday. This work will need to be returned on Monday, February 5th. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding in this matter.

After careful consideration, it was determined that the county roads are unsafe for our buses. Alton R-IV will not be in session on Wednesday, January 24, 2024.

Due to the rain, most of the ice on the roads has melted, but some gravel roads are still slippery. Therefore, we have decided to cancel school on Tuesday, January 23rd.

Due to the risk of flash freezing this afternoon, Alton R-4 will be dismissing at 12:45. We hope that you and your family stay safe and warm. Please remember that we are not in session on Monday, January 15th in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday.
Alton R-4 will dismiss at 1 PM today due to incoming winter weather. Homecoming ceremonies are also canceled. We will let everyone know as soon as they are rescheduled.

Mrs. Warren's class received a big surprise yesterday from Alton Drug Store! Thank you so much to Becky Peace and Matthew Combs for your gifts! And I also want to thank them for providing the complete cost of the tickets for our class to go to The Down Under Zoo and Cave a while back! You guys are amazing!!!
Mrs. Holesapple's class would like to thank the Whitten's and Quick Connection for providing pizza and gingerbread house kits for the students to create during their class party.
