New Welding Program at GoCATS: We are planning to offer a new specialized welding program this fall. It is a course designed to ensure students receive the specific training needed and wanted by local employers. It will be an extensive 16 week program. Individuals who are accepted into and complete the program will be well prepared for AWS Certifications as well as have excellent job opportunities locally and nationwide. Please work through these educational enrichment opportunities with your child as you have time. Look to create opportunities outside of the regular school day and make things work best for your family. If you have a student who struggles with any of the suggested “assignments”, we would recommend that you modify by breaking things down into smaller chunks or decrease the amount that you expect students to complete at a time. We are here to support you in any way that we can. Don’t hesitate to reach out to the office or your child’s teacher at any time.

As a reminder, any Alton R-IV student needing internet access (or better internet access than what they have at home) for dual credit classes or other school related assignments may park in the Alton R-IV parking lot and access our network just as if they were on campus during a normal school day. Please comply with all the social distancing recommendations and remember the Alton R-IV filtering system and internet conduct rules will be in place as well.
