SOPHOMORES: If you think you would be interested in learning more about classes at South Central Career Center for your junior and senior year, we will be going on a tour on Thursday, November 21st. We will ride up on the Career Center bus and return in time for lunch at school (leave at 8:00 AM and return by 11:45 PM). We will tour both school sites for programs such as Culinary Arts, Health Occupations, Construction, Welding, Creative Design, IT, Auto Mechanics and Body Collision. See Mrs. Gilliland for a permission form and course assignment sheet. These will be due by Tuesday, November 19th.

October was National Principal’s Month. National Principal’s Month is an opportunity to say “thank you” to principals everywhere in honor of their hard work and dedication. Dual Enrollment forms for MSU-West Plains Spring semester are available from Mrs. Gilliland. Students who are interested in taking a dual enrollment course in the spring will need to return the forms to her by Tues., Nov. 19th. If you have questions, please see Mrs. Gilliland.

The fifth grade classes had a combined 777 lessons at 80% or higher in Reading Plus. This is such a great accomplishment!

The trip for Kindergarten and First Grade to the Pumpkin Patch has been postponed until Monday, October 28th due to the weather. We will follow the same itinerary, but on a different day.

Thank you to our students for their excellent behavior during the college and career fair. Many of the representatives commented on how polite you were and how nice it was to have conversations with you. It's so awesome to hear that other people see the best in our kids! Thanks to Mrs. Granger-Bettis and the FCCLA students who helped with the hospitality baking, set-up, and service. And, thank you to my greeters who assisted in many ways before, during, and after the fair. You kids are awesome! And, thanks to the custodians for setting the FEMA up and breaking it all down. We have the greatest custodial staff ever!
College & Career Fair is today at 1:00 in the FEMA for grades 9-12! Military, Vocational, Career Schools, Financial Aid, 2 and 4 year colleges will have representatives here. Make sure you are registered at www.strivefair.com in order to attend!
