SENIORS: Missouri State University - Springfield is now a member of the Common App! You can now apply for admission free of charge via the Common App or Missouri State's online application. Go to misssouristate.edu/apply to complete the application!

Under the age of 30 and going to a vocational/technical program? Last day to apply for the Horatio Alger CTE Scholarship for this year is Friday, Sept. 27th. It will re-open in March 2020 for those entering a program for the next year.

On October 7th, all Alton R-IV students will be participating in World Day of Bullying Prevention. We would like to encourage all students and the community to participate by agreeing to #BlueUp and take a stand against bullying! Wear a blue shirt on 10.7.19! #BlueUp even further by wearing a blue hat, blue shoe laces, blue tie, blue sneakers ... etc. Students can also buy a #CometsBlueUp T-shirt for $12 each through 9/23/19 (contact Ann Oesch for more details).
We encourage every parent to have a discussion about bullying with their children. Students will also be taking part in a variety of bullying prevention activities at school. Let's work together as a community to take a stand against bullying!

FAFSA for 2020-21 Opens on October 1st. Find your 2018 tax info and start preparing! For those already in college or a vocational program, remember that you have to do this each and every year!

Parents & Students: 2nd try at sending out correct report cards for 1st term progress reports in the junior and senior high school. Let Mrs. Gilliland know if you see an issue with missing courses or grades. Thank you for your patience with this.

Parents and Students: We have a glitch in the system with 7th and 8th grade report cards not printing the grades! We are working on this and will send out new grade cards and a notice that they are being sent soon.

1st Term Progress Reports are being emailed today, Friday, Sept. 20th. If you do not have an email on file, your child will receive a paper copy.

Check out the info on the Missouri National Guard in our news article. Sgt. Wright will be here on Friday, Oct. 11th at 2:50 to meet with interested seniors and juniors. Sign the list on Mrs. Gilliland's board if you want to meet with him.

Junior Class Fundraiser
Just a reminder that the junior class is selling laundry detergent as well as many other products to raise funds for our 2020 prom. Orders and money are due on September 25th (NEXT WEDNESDAY)! If you are wanting to purchase something but can't find a junior please email Mrs. Myers at nataliemyers@alton.k12.mo.us and she will get you connected with a junior! Attached is a copy of the products we are selling and the prices.
