National Online Safety believes in empowering parents, carers and trusted adults with the information they need to hold informed and age-appropriate conversations about online safety with their child, should they feel it is needed. Every Wednesday they produce guides to focus on specific platforms/risks which they believe trusted adults should be aware of. #WakeUpWednesday

Dr. Steele recognized HS Beta sponsors, Mr. Brian Foerster and Mrs. Lisa Thompson, for achieving 2018-2019 National Beta Educator of Distinction status. This award is designed to honor Beta sponsors who are committed to Beta Club growth, include members from all eligible grade levels in their club and participate in National Beta events with their students. Because of the efforts of Mrs. Thompson and Mr. Foerster, Alton High School has achieved School of Distinction, School of Merit, and enriched students’ lives by attending a Leadership Summit, State Convention and National Convention. Congratulations Mr. Foerster and Mrs. Thompson!

We encourage you to have a plan in your home in case of a fire!

Today is Custodian Appreciation Day which is an acknowledgement and celebration of the essential work provided by our custodial staff. They do so much more than cleaning the inside of the classrooms. They are the ones called to clean up the "not so pleasant" messes, mow the grass, fix leaks, and many other tasks. Most importantly, they take time to get to know our students and they make more of an impact on their lives than they probably realize. We can't thank them enough for their commitment to Alton R-IV. If you see Kalan Roberts, Gentry Andrews, Mike Rackley, Larenda Williams, Terry Smith, Ronnie Medlin, Vickie Bettis, or Korena Ming, please thank them for their service.

School Letter Jackets May be ordered on Thursday, October 3rd, at 11:00 in the high school gym.

In conjunction with local law enforcement, Alton High School went to a soft lock down this afternoon while a canine unit visited our campus. The soft lock down has been lifted and Alton High School is back to normal operations at this time.
