Congratulations to our Elementary Little Mr. and Miss Merry Christmas Candidates! Thanks to the Culture Club and our Community Partners for sponsoring this program. To help your favorite candidates win, stop by one of the businesses who are sponsoring them and make a donation! All money received will used to make our town beautiful and to sponsor youth related activities.

This month, the teacher spotlight shines on Mrs. Adrian Clary. Mrs. Clary is one of our kindergarten teachers at #AltonElem. Mrs. Clary also serves as the Junior High Girls Basketball Coach and the High School Girls Assistant Basketball Coach.
In the classroom, Mrs. Clary pushes her students to do their very best. Her classroom is a loving, inviting room filled with bright colors and learning adventures galore! All of Mrs. Clary’s students definitely walk out of kindergarten knowing that their teacher loves them very much! Mrs. Clary looks after her students. She is the first to notice when one of her students is in need or is simply having a rough day. Mrs. Clary also fights for her students to ensure that they have the love and support that they need to be successful. In addition, Mrs. Clary goes out of her way to provide unique experiences for her students, like trips to Shepherd’s View to read to residents.
On the court, Mrs. Clary serves as an amazing role model to the girls that she coaches. She pours her heart and soul into her ball team. She works to develop positive relationships with her girls. She creates an environment that allows everyone on her team to feel like they are part of a family.
Between teaching and coaching, Mrs. Clary truly pours everything she has into the Alton School District. Many days, she starts her morning with a 5 AM ball practice, teaches kindergarten all day, and then ends the day with an after school practice. It would be difficult to find an educator who works harder than her. We are so lucky to be able to call Mrs. Clary an Alton Comet. Thanks for all you do to make our school a better place, Mrs. Clary! You are appreciated!
*Thank you to the Alton Burger Palace for sponsoring our monthly teacher spotlight! Each month, the winning teacher receives a $25 gift card from the Alton Burger Palace.

New Name and Cause for the Basketball Jamboree for 2018! Alton High School Beta Club is sponsoring the Red Out Games this year with a new color, red instead of pink, and a new charity. This year all funds will be raised for St. Judes Children's Hospital. T-shirts are $10.00. The money is due Wednesday November 7, (Your student should have come home yesterday with the order form). Due to scheduling conflicts the date had to be moved up giving us little time to get t-shirts designed, so that is the reason for the quick turn around in the orders forms due date.
